Text formatting defaults in v3.3c vs 4.0.0c

January 30th, 2010 . by CHUCK OLSON

I have seen similar posts to this, but not directly concerning the font color and highlighted color.  If I have overlooked this topic, please forgive and advise.  My issue in 4.0.0.c is that, unlike the previous version where I could click on the toolbar option for text and highlight color with a card file, save the file, exit the program and the next time I opened the program those same colors would still be “the new default”, v4.0.0.c reverts those options back to system default of black font color and “clear” or no background color, causing you to reselect and rechoose those options every time you restart the program.  I found the previous version’s behaviour very useful, in that I use the “red” font color and “yellow” background color for entering meeting notes and highlighting important points of reference and find it cumbersome to always have to reselect these option settings.  Has that been corrected and if so, is there a downloadable upgrade yet to 4.0.0.c?  If not, when do you expect a new updated version to be released.

Thanks and keep up the great work!

Problems with Search — using 4.0.00 and XP Pro

January 12th, 2010 . by MORT WESTMAN

I am a dedicated and experienced AZZ Cardfile user but having routine problems using Search.  In case it matters in this regard I have a large file of well over 1000 cards and 511 KB.  Using edition 4.0.00 and XP Pro.

1. The normal search feature, binocular icon, typically advises me that the string cannot be found — i.e., doesn’t work

2. I can search by first placing the cursor in the bar in which one enters the name of the card they wish to open and the pres ESC; and then pressing CTRL+F.

3. This works for me 75% of the time but the program stops responding during the remainder.

4. I have to resort to closing the program using Task Manager which takes at least 3-4 minutes but in Task Manager I notice that a second copy of the file appears to have opened during the process.

Can someone help.
