can’t save…..
February 16th, 2010 . by judy burkeI am unable to save any changes to my card file.
I have tried to get to the suggested “fix” of “run this program in compatibility mode for” >Windows XP. I can’t find the “Compatibility” option.
I have emailed AZZ Cardfile support several times but only get the automated robot response saying they will get back to me as soon as possible - this has been going on since early December. I need HELP!!!!

Judy, I have AZZ card file 3.2 running on both XP and Vista 64 bit. I don’t recall how I installed it on the Vista, but generally with software it is the operating system that controls the compatibility mode. Look in the help files for your operating system to find info on the compatibility mode.
If the software was working just fine on the same operating system you are now having a problem with, the first thing to do is start splitting up large files into smaller ones. That is information from the AZZ card file help menu.
When one of my computers was dying, and I don’t recall if it was the one with the bad hard drive or the one that had other problems, I occasionally had problems saving AZZ card file and, I believe, closing it. Both of those computers that died really didn’t give blatant outward symptoms they were on their last legs. Please be sure to back up your files to something other than your hard drive in case it is a computer-related issue.
Thanks Barb but I still can’t get it to save. I’m thinking about buying and installing the newest version - maybe this will fix things for me. Do you have any additional thoughts?
Judy, I have just moved to Windows 7 and have the same problem —- with one small diference. I can save once, then not again. So WHen I add a card or change information I save and then close and re-open. This is a pain in the backside but I can keep my info.
I have about 1998 cards in the file.
Also since moving to WIndows 7 the right click which brings up the drop down menu does not work so I cannot use the copy/paste funtions unless I go to the Edit, Copy on the toolbar.
If anyone has an answer to these problems please post.
All - I read some of the other posts and have resolved the “save” problem.
As suggested I put all the AZZ files into a single folder. I have several back-ups of my .azz file and store those in a folder named “cardfile”.
I uninstalled AZZ
The re-installed with the location of the install in the “cardfile” folder. WIndows 7 default was in the program files (x86) folder - I repointed the install to the cardfile directory.
No problems with saving.
The only issue now is the use of the drop down menu when I right click in the card space - I cannot copy phoe numbers etc to load onto my VOIP phone.
