Is Access violation a common problem?

January 30th, 2008 . by brotherdav3

replied to other access violation post but thought it prudent to post this one as well. After several uses of the program , I, too, get an access violation. The error dialog box alludes to ‘Access violation 00405A78 in Module AzzCardfile.exe. runtime violation at 0000040. Nothing much has changed in my system, so i’m wondering if this is a time based problem. I tried the following: uninstall, reinstall with newer version…all to no avail???? Also deleted all references found in registry.

thanx for responses to perhaps this not uncommon problem.

Brotherdav3, thanks. Thought I’d better post separately too, so that other people can easier find it in future.

Alas, various remedies to correct access violation ALL failed. Giving up and searching for a more stable program PIM or CDTree type. Too bad, lost a lot of valuable unretrievable data on this one..wasted a lot of time too trying to do workarounds.
    The following efforts all failed.
    1. complete registry removal.
    2. relocation of AZZ files to my documents.
    3. relocation of program to area other than program files.
    4. Install from Safe boot with administrator login

    5. Obviously not a stable or compatible pgm with other.
    6. Too bad…it worked…for long enough to cause a loss of data..

We just discovered that some East Asian language characters also cause “access violation” error, working on that and at the same time waiting for “RTF” component (which we use) possibly fixed globally.

If someone could send .azz file containing east asian languages characters that cause error, thank you in advance.

    Walla… Success at last.
Since access violation was not always the case, I decided to systematically REMOVE all software installed after the fact. Turn out a DVD ripping software WAS the culprit. Once removed, the AZZcardfile is now fully functional. It May have had East asian language characters but since i didn’t winHex it fully i don’t know. So Folks, if Suddenly your former working AZZ doesn’t work try my suggested remedy before you give up.
