Database corruption
December 19th, 2007 . by jouniI had database open, made some small changes and switched to another application. I’ve done this hundreds of time, no idea what would have been different this time:
critical DLL Error -7 [OK]
I pressed OK button and tried to save:
Zip file could not be opened [OK]
Input file does not exits [OK]
Cannot write to C:\Users\admin\Documents\My azzCardfile Files\A8 people.azz
SaveAs operation was successful, at least no error notes.
Trying to open the original database:
“A8 people.azz”: File is being used by another User in Network. The cards will be copied to the new file [OK]
I/O error 32 [OK]
I got empty “Untitled” database with no card titles visible, “no card selected” as current card, but bottom info row tells there is total 257 cards of which 1 is selected.
During holidays I am going to reformat laptop harddisk, get finally rid of Microsoft Vista and install XP. The laptop manufacturer was kind enough to send me XP install disks for free. Said too many people had complained.

Jouni,
we were not able to reproduce this error. Must be something Vista related.
