Creating Template-cards in AZZ Cardfile

November 16th, 2007 . by Rytis Zumbakis

In answer to Glen Worstell’s comment in this Blog, I thought it will be useful to many other users, as this feature is not well documented in program’s Help (shame on us).

It is easy and useful to create a template card, if you have AZZ Cardfile files like address-book, recipe book, or any other database that use standard fields for each entry.

1. Create a new card and assign it Title __template, (with one or more spaces at the beginning, so that it always sticks at the top of the alphabetical List):

create template card

2. Add all necessary fields to that “template” card:

add fields to template

3. Once you are going to create a new card from template, right click it in list and choose “Duplicate”:

create new card from template

4. Assign a meaningful Title when asked:

assign title to card

Also, there may be useful - a sample .azz file submitted by one of our users. How to create tables and table templates in AZZ Cardfile: http://www.pim-software.com/download/tables.html

Have you ever or are now considering an iPhone version of your program. Very useful.

    Sorry, no.

    Workaround:

    1. Export all or selected (holding Ctrl) cards from AZZ data file to text file - use menu File -> Export -> Text file.

    2. Copy that plain text file to any mobile device into memo/notes/etc.. area.

There will not be AzzCardfile’s functionality, but at least you could read the data.
